Ali Barnard, while not currently enrolled in any classes thanks to the two adorable toddlers she’s raising at home, as well as training horses, and writing, is working on a psychology and business degree. As the American half of this book devouring duo, she is never without her kindle that sports over five hundred books. As long as the book has engaging characters and a great plot twist or two, she’ll give it a shot. The only thing more fun than reading a great book is telling everyone about it. Just to give you an idea of her tastes, some of her favorite authors include: CS Lewis, Paulo Coelho, Lynn Kurland, Bec McMaster, Diane Gabaldon, AJ Aalto and Melissa Marr. (It was really hard for Ali to limit herself and pick just her favorites. The list could go on for days and she’s always looking for new talent!)
Beth Taylor is a fifth year university student studying English and Business (for the sake of practicality) at MUN in the hope of someday working in the publishing industry. She has also started taking the courses necessary for a Certificate in Publishing from Ryerson. The Canadian half of this team, Beth has been an avid reader her entire life and is a fan of all genres, as evident by the variety found on her shelves. She is rarely seen without a book in hand and loves nothing more than to get lost in the plot and characters of a good story. Beth firmly believes in sharing that experience with others, and what better way to do that than through the reviewing and promoting of novels that might otherwise be overlooked?
Some of her favourite authors include Douglas Adams, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, Neil Gaiman, Jim C. Hines, Dean Koontz, H.P. Lovecraft, Garth Nix, Tamora Pierce, China Miéville, and Ian Rankin.
Beth is hoping to add some new authors to that list soon.
